This case study details a successful, zero-downtime Oracle Database migration from 11g to 19c for a major financial institution. By leveraging Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication, we addressed the critical challenge of ensuring 24/7 business continuity while achieving a 30% performance boost and future-proofing their core systems.

Explore how our expertise in Mainframe offloading and Oracle GoldenGate enabled a client to alleviate Mainframe system pressure, enhance query speeds, and achieve significant cost savings by migrating core query functionalities to Oracle Exadata. This impactful project (March 2018 - September 2018) highlights our ability to deliver complex, high-impact solutions.

We upgraded a financial institution's Oracle backup system using Oracle ZDLRA to resolve issues of slow recovery and data loss risk. The project introduced an efficient incremental backup strategy, achieved true Zero Data Loss (RPO=0) with real-time log protection, and centralized management via OEM, resulting in significantly faster recovery times and robust data security.

This project (February 2019 - October 2019) involved creating a near real-time data platform for a major provincial bank. We utilized GoldenGate for data synchronization and developed a Go-based backend for intelligent O&M, achieving low latency, high throughput, and robust scalability.

We modernized a financial institution's core payment system by migrating from IBM Power+DB2 to a high-performance x86+Oracle platform. The project involved splitting the payment gateway, implementing a zero-downtime data migration with GoldenGate, and resulted in a 3x performance boost and significant cost savings.

The new core database was replanned and adjusted, including parameter adjustment, integration and optimization of data tables and data dictionaries, and a variety of stress testing plans were formulated to ensure that the new core database can adapt to the needs of different business scenarios, thereby improving database performance, increasing data expansion capabilities, and enhancing database high availability, security, and stability.

Facing rising IT costs and environmental pressures, we engineered a comprehensive database consolidation. The project involved migrating 16 databases to two high-performance, all-flash ODA X8-2 appliances using Oracle 19c multitenant technology. This move optimized data center space, reduced the carbon footprint, slashed Oracle license fees, and established a modern, efficient, and green data platform.

When multiple schemas, applications, or databases are hosted on target systems, hardware resource utilization can be improved through consolidation and compression, minimizing idle time cycles. Consequently, the same output can be achieved with fewer resources, thereby reducing costs.

We assigned an engineer to be stationed at the bank and designated a dedicated senior engineer for timely response and handling of bank fault emergencies.
